Multiple sources from Addis Ababa have indicated that Hailemariam Dessalegn has been elected as chairman of the ruling party EPRDF. Also, the party elected Amhara National Democratic Movement's (ANDM) Demeke Mekonen as its vice-chairman. 

Accordingly, as leader of the party with majoriy seat in parliment, Hailemariam will soon sworn in as the next Prime Minister of the country, succeeding the late PM Meles Zenawi.
