Usain Bolt sees Jamaica home in a world record time of 36.85 seconds.
World record shattered as Jamaica stormed through to another gold with a record time of 36.84s followed by USA equaling the world record 37.04s to take silver and Canada taking bronze with a timing off 38.07s.
Jamaica were trailing the Americans after two baton changes but Yohan Blake gobbles up their advantage by overtaking Tyson Gay at the bend and Usain Bolt gallops away from Ryan Bailey to dip home in world record time.
Usain Bolt is proof that lightening doesn't just strike once or twice - but six times. That is Bolt's sixth Olympic gold medal in his second Games. He won the 100m, 200m and 4x100m in Beijing and has defended his hat-trick of titles in London. He said he wanted to become a living legend; Mission accomplished, Mr Bolt. It is a feat that places him just below our own Sir Chris Hoy on the all-time medalists list - but he scores highly when compared to other track athletes. Only Carl Lewis, who won nine golds between 1984 and 1996, stands above him from the modern era.
